Brazilian Top Team (BTT) UKBrazilian Top Team (BTT) EuropeBorn and raised in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Zé Marcello is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Sergio “Bolao” Souza. With over 16 years of training, Zé Marcello has competed in the most prestigious BJJ tournaments in the World and is affiliated with the world famous Brazilian Top Team (BTT). Having retired from competing  professionally in 2002, Zé Marcello has since dedicated  his time to teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  

After realising his first international seminar in France in 1999, the success was such that it opened the doors to Europe and the USA. He has since held over 60 international seminars in places like France, USA, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Great Britain, Reunion Islands, Hong Kong, Norway and Spain, taking the art and technique of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to over 2000 people around the world. Aside from BJJ, his hobbies also include Surfing, Snowboard and playing the acustic guitar. He currently resides in the UK ( Head coach for BTT Europe), running successful academies in Milton Keynes and Slough.

Thomas Fan

Chief instructor for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in Hong Kong since 2002, Thomas’s teaching experience includes complete novices to competition BJJ players. With his experience as a competitor and training amongst other martial arts including Kung Fu and kickboxing, Thomas offers a varied programme depending on the aims of his students. Personal coaching in conditioning and martial arts has been sought after by many past and present from Thomas. With his background as a professional Osteopath and Instructor, he has a rare combination of coaching skills with indepth knowledge of the human body, injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Thomas offers coaching in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi & Submission), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Basic level kickboxing and Kettlebells training.

Joseph Lee

Joseph has studied a variety of Martial Arts including Western Boxing, Chinese Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Ryoi Shinto Ryu Jiu Jitsu and D.A.R.T. (Defense & Restraint Tactics). However, his main Martial Arts background is Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo, which he has been studying since latter part of 1997 under the late Shihan Pierre Ingrassia. He achieved his 1st Dan Blackbelt in Koshiki Karatedo in 2000 and was awarded his 1st Dan Blackbelt in Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo in 2001, in Tokyo, Japan by So-Shihan Masayuki Kukan Hisataka (9th Dan). Joseph was a member of the Hong Kong Koshiki Karatedo Team that competed in the 2000 World Koshiki Karatedo Championship in Australia and the Asia Pacific Championship in Indonesia. He has made numerous visits to Japan and Okinawa to further enrich his Karatedo development. Due to his involvement in the Security industry, Joseph diversified his approach in the Martial Arts and began placing more emphasis on ‘Reality Based Self Defense System’ for its practical application and this eventually led him to Krav Maga. In early 2008, he started attending seminars held by IKMF (International Krav Maga Federation) – Krav Maga Seminar in Hong Kong. In February 2009, Joseph became the 1st batch of Certified Self Defense Krav Maga Instructor in Hong Kong, after undergoing an intensive and grueling ‘Civilian Instructor Course’ conducted by Senior Members of the IKMF from Israel: Avi Moyal & Gabi Noach. The course was 180hrs in duration, comprising of skills test, written examination and teaching ability. Joseph graduated as the top student amongst his peers, obtaining the highest score on the course.

Kali

Born in Hong Kong in 1977, Andy has been studying various martial arts for over 15 years since the age of 17. The arts he trained most intensively include Kali, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, in which he had gained all-around skills and knowledge in weapons fighting, empty-handed striking and ground grappling.

Andy started studying Kali in 2002 and earned a black belt at the Philippine Martial Art Federation in Hong Kong, a school that teaches Kali Ilustrisimo, the much respected Filipino blade and stick fighting system. He was a member of the school’s Hong Kong team in the 2004 WEKAF World Tournament in Cebu.

Since 2005 Andy has also been training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under the famous Hong Kong instructor Thomas Fan. He is currently a blue belt in BJJ, and won the Bronze Medal of No-Gi 65-70kg competition in the Philippine Grappling Challenge 2006, an open event consisting international players.

Kali

Born in 1982, Alex has been active in the Hong Kong combat sport circle for over 7 years, with more than 20 ring fights of Muay Thai, boxing and Sanda under his belt (with a fight record of 11W8L2D). Being well known by his ring name ‘Black Prince’, He has been one of the top kickboxers in Hong Kong during his competition career, holding the all-Hong Kong No.1 rank of 63.5kg class Muay Thai in 2008-2009. He had also won the 1st Runner-up in the Hong Kong Sanda Open Tournament in 2002.

Alex started studying Muay Thai at the famous Hong Kong Tiger Gym. He had been appointed as the gym’s assistant coach in 2003, and is certified as Level 1 Muay Thai Trainer by the Hong Kong Muay Thai Association (HKMTA). To develop further skills and knowledge in this art, he visited Thailand in 2005, receiving a month-long intensive training at the world-renowned Sityodtong Muay Thai Gym of Pattaya.

Alex is also an expert in fitness training, who holds the Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate issued by the International Health & Fitness Institute (IHFI). Besides Muay Thai, Alex has a wide range of experiences in other martial arts too, including Karate, Wing Chun, Yiquan, Aikido, Kali and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
